Job Title: Community Engagement Manager

SUMMARY
This position will work with the CEO, CCO and cross-organization in developing and executing plans to advance the mission of DDC by focusing on community engagement initiatives that encourage collaboration of partner businesses and organizations along with residents and other community stakeholders. The position will also involve developing processes, procedures, and structures whereby stakeholders can convene, engage, and implement components of Door County’s Destination Stewardship Plan
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
● DDC Point of Contact for county-wide trail initiatives/planning
● Assists with Community Investment Fund outreach and grant management efforts
● Assists with partner social media outreach as needed
● Assists the Director of Visitor Services with DDC’s volunteer hours efforts
● Other responsibilities as needed for the organization
SUSTAINABILITY & STEWARDSHIP
● Assists with managing DDC’s Stewardship Ad Hoc Committee. The Committee will focus on environmental, societal & economic sustainability through strategic planning, advocacy & representation.
● Provide other support for the implementation of the Destination Stewardship Plan as needed
● Serve as point of contact for EV related items and manages EV mini-grant program
● Serve as point of contact for accessibility related items and manages Accessibility mini-grant program
● Explore partnership opportunities with conservation organizations to support water quality protection, land conservation & land acquisition efforts at sensitive and scenic locations
● Assist with convening partners & stakeholders for a countywide Stewardship Summit
● Prioritize stewardship needs and initiatives, explore funding opportunities, and develop a collaboration network of sustainability partners
● Support development of year-round outdoor recreation infrastructure for sports such as
cross-country skiing, winter biking, and ice fishing
● Advocate for funding to develop new trails and enhance existing trail systems, including improvements for bike use, walking, and wayfinding
● Explore new stewardship ideas such as a sustainability plan for parks, land trust accreditation
opportunities, etc.

● Explore grant opportunities and write grants to help fund specific community projects
