Hello - trying to think creatively on how we may be able to better track attendance at our events and venues, as well as room nights since our venues are largely subsidized by bed tax.
We currently use click counts, but they overstate attendance as a portion of people enter the building multiple times during an event. Thinking event registrations would be more useful for unique attendees. We could then apply a multiplier for overall attendance (dance events may have +4, other events may have +2) and some type of calculation for room nights.
Does anyone request their clients provide an actual headcount for sports/dance/cheer competitions? Looking at specific venues, as well as citywide events. If so, what type of multiplier do you use to extrapolate total attendance (and room nights if applicable)?
Any other insights for tracking attendance (local v non-local) and room nights is appreciated. Thanks!
